What we can show you in writing

Spice is an easy trade to exaggerate in. So the rule on this site is simple: every number we print is one we can put a document behind, and where there is no document, we say so on this page instead of hoping you don't ask.

A panel comparing several grades of dried turmeric fingers side by side in bowls and open sacks

प्रतवारी · graded, not guessed

A grade is a specification, not a mood

Turmeric is bought and sold by finger grade, and buyers who know the trade ask for one by name. These are lots from our own procurement, laid out so the difference in size, colour and polish is visible rather than described.

Food business licence

FSSAI Lic. No. 11524997000040

Issued to VAshwini Enterprises, the family firm THE2WINS trades under. It is the licence that lets us make and sell food, and it is printed on every pack as well as in the footer of every page here.

Geographical Indication

Lakadong turmeric — GI Reg. No. 741 (2024)

A GI protects a name and a place. This one certifies that turmeric sold as Lakadong comes from the Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya. It is not a licence we hold — it is the registration that makes the turmeric we buy what it says it is.

Laboratory reports

Four products tested against FSSA 2006

Turmeric, jaggery powder, jaggery granules and dry ginger have all been analysed and the reports are published in full below — every figure, including the ones a seller would rather round up. The Lakadong range comes from a separate supplier report on the Meghalaya crop.

Who you are buying from

VAshwini Enterprises, Sangli

THE2WINS is a brand of VAshwini Enterprises, Sangli, Maharashtra. Orders, invoices and payments are all in the firm's name — there is no separate shell company between you and the farm.

The numbers, and the documents they come from

Four of our products have been analysed against Food Safety & Standards Act 2006 methods. Rather than summarise, we print every parameter the lab measured and link the signed report — so you can check our arithmetic instead of trusting our adjectives.

Barcodes, HS codes and best-before dates

Retailers, wholesalers and anyone shipping our jars abroad need these before they need our story. They are the same figures printed on the packs and listed on each product page.

Every pack size carries its own 13-digit EAN barcode under the GS1 India 890 prefix, so a 200 g jar and a 500 g jar of the same spice scan as two different goods. HS codes below are the customs classifications used on our trade paperwork.

जे आम्ही सांगत नाही · what we don't claim

The three things we are careful never to say

A certifications page that lists only the good news is marketing. These are the gaps, in our own words, so nobody has to guess what our labels mean.

We are not certified organic

Chemical-free describes a method, not a certificate. It means the jaggery is boiled in open pans with no washing soda and no bleaching agent, and the turmeric is ground from boiled, sun-dried fingers with no polishing and no added colour. We hold no organic certification, so you will not find the word organic on a THE2WINS pack.

We make no GI claim for Sangli turmeric

An earlier draft of this site said the Sangli crop was GI-tagged. No registration document was supplied for it, so the claim came off every page — the same test we applied to the Lakadong curcumin figure has to apply here too. The day the certificate reaches us, it goes up on this page.

We make no medical claims

Where the site says a spice is traditionally valued for something, or that Ayurveda describes it a certain way, that is exactly what is meant. Turmeric, gur and sunth are food. Nothing here diagnoses, treats or cures anything, and none of it is medical advice.

Need the documents themselves?

Ask, and the family will send them

The lab reports above are on this page as downloadable PDFs — open them, save them, send them to your compliance team. If you need anything they do not cover, such as the FSSAI licence certificate itself or a report on a specific consignment, message us and the family will send it.
